ECSTATIC DANCE WINTER SOLSTICE RETREAT
Join us for an extended weekend of connection, expression, reflection, and movement where the Redwoods meet the Pacific Ocean. We will get cozy as we enter the winter season together and honor/celebrate the longest nights of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. This will be a deep container blending a variety of offerings from our DJs and Facilitators (see listings below). We will be both indoors and outdoors using our JBLPRX full sound system indoors plus silent disco offerings outdoors.
Picture yourself dancing in the main lodge, taking a long solo or group hike, sitting beside the campfire quietly contemplating the new year ahead, soaking leisurely in the hot tub after a transformative workshop, or sharing a satisfying conversation over a delicious meal prepared by our cooks. There will also be a day of "silence in motion" from sunset on Saturday to sunset on Sunday. All dances, classes and activities are held without speech or talking during this 24-hour period and participants are asked to do the same in all their interactions.
This retreat includes all meals! Organic, vegetarian meals (vegan/gf options) are provided with love and care to nourish and delight you. Plus there are both outdoor spaces to pitch a tent or car/van camp as well as indoor sleeping spaces in a large yurt and several lodge rooms with bunk beds. All available first come, first served. And yes there are hot showers!

Atasiea is the co-founder, spiritual director, and a resident facilitator at Ecstatic Dance Los Angeles. He is a Reiki Master healer, Dancing Freedom Facilitator, ceremonialist, and performance artist with a combined 20 year history as an educator and practitioner in the healing/ performing arts. Over the past decade he's worked to help build a thriving Ecstatic Dance community in LA, and has contributed to retreats, and festivals in the transformational events community worldwide. As a mixed race adopted woman, issues of body autonomy, resiliency practices, freedom of expression, and building safety within and without, have been foundational to my work. I am a passionate mover, who hopes to spark authentic expression and the permission to care for self in the world. My movement background includes a foundation of ballet, tap, jazz, modern, improv, contact, folk, panAfrican, authentic movment, 5 Rhythms, Estatic dance, sacred circle dances, Yoga, Pilates, and most dearly, Body Mind Centering. I have spent the past 21 years in private practice serving the roles of: personal health coach & bodyworker, movement teacher, dance teacher, yoga, pilates, and general fitness & wellness guide. I also manage a retreat center and produce community events and transformation retreats. You can find me holding space for healing at Sacred Earth Retreat in the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

She has taught at Oakland Center for Spiritual Living and Sister Spirit Retreats. Sun is the founder and master teacher for Sun Process. In Sun’s direct experience of enlightenment, there are 3 elements: 1. Presence 2. Authenticity and Right Action 3. Love and trust. To hone these skills she created Sun Process(SP). The 3 pillars of Sun Process are 1. Meditation 2. Love and Trust and 3. Somatic Healing.

Sage Caimor

Sage Caimor is a student of shamanic practices and Esoteric studies specializing in Celtic faerie lore and healing techniques. They combine universal core shamanism with traditional European spirit lore to create spiritual practices that can heal and enrich one’s own life and the lives of others. They have studied and trained with teachers internationally and through personal studies intentionally over the last seven years. They are a respected teacher, counselor, leader of social change, and creator of sacred space. Sage has received her Master’s in Social Change from ILIFF School of Theology and is working on her doctorate in Esoteric Ministry from The Esoteric Theological Seminary in Sedona.

She brings a keen intuitive awareness to her teachings and practice as a Massage Therapist for over 20 years. She channels her passion of embodiment through a consistent practice of Ecstatic Dance and serves as Minister of Music through DJing local dance events in Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara, CA where she resides. Her sharing of the power music in the dance community fuels her desire for integration, connection and an ever increasing state of flow. She draws on a myriad of music genres which include Medicine music, Folktronica, Electronic, Blues, Dance , House, New age and Classic Rock.

No partial tickets or day passes available. Come for as much or as little of the retreat as you like but everyone pays full price. You are of course free to choose how you spend your time balancing rest with participation, group time with solo time!
Please be aware that everyone attending is taking 100% responsibility for their own health and safety. Everyone is empowered to be at choice and as such masks, vax, and tests are NOT required in any way. Much of the retreat will happen outdoors, but there will be indoor dancing and classes...especially if it's raining. Being fully at choice, you can decide what you are willing to participate in (and what you are not) at any time during the retreat.
