A Touch of Wild

Contact Improvisation is one of my favorite ways to engage Nature. Using the principles and perspectives of CI, we can achieve greater intimacy, appreciation, and understanding of our place in the natural world. Plus have a ton of fun with friends both new and old!
Exploring Upper and Lower Wilder Ranch, I'll lead a short investigation of each environment plus offer tips and techniques for connection and attunement. Then movers will be free to explore and engage with each other and/or the environment utilizing deep "listening through the skin".
Imagine a secluded cove with a sandy beach and an exotic fern grotto. A few hours later you find yourself exploring the support and shelter of centuries-old oak tress and other delights of the hills and forests there. Our day concludes with some time for sharing and reflection on the highlights of our experiences.

What to bring:
--Swim clothes and a towel (sorry this is NOT clothing optional)
--Footwear for the river, socks or barefeet in the sand at the beach
--Dress in layers for beach and river.
--Snacks or a small bag lunch
--Sunscreen, hat, water, etc. etc. if ya like
--Your curiosity, willingness, and sense of adventure!

Contacting the Elements

Open to all levels of experience, this is an outdoor adventure bringing the attentiveness, curiosity, and intimacy of Contact Improvisation into our connection with the basic elements that comprise our bodies and the rest of the natural world.
We will embark on a grand excursion together visiting one of my absolute favorite local outdoor spots...the Garden of Eden! There we encounter an exquisite interplay of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. I'll lead a short investigation of several different areas plus offer tips and techniques for engagement. Then movers will be free to explore and interact as inspired by the elemental forces!
We start the day by meeting up to carpool together from 418 Front St. We then head out for the "Garden of Eden"--an enchanted portion of the San Lorenzo River--to explore the banks, rocks, trees and flowing water. Our day concludes with some time for sharing and reflection on the highlights of our explorations.

Daniel Mollner is passionate about creative expression and is dedicated to building community. With a Masters Degree in Education, he is the co-founder of Santa Cruz Contact University and teaches regular classes and workshops here in Santa Cruz, the US, and abroad. Though he appreciates the opportunity to travel, Daniel always loves returning to his home of the past 20 years here on the Central Coast.
Amy Baldwin is a Sexuality Educator, Sex and Relationship Coach, and co-creator of the Shameless Sex Podcast. She has a degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Sexuality from San Francisco State University, training from SFSI (San Francisco Sex Information) as a Certified Sex Educator, as well as the Somatica Institute and Barbara Carrellas' Urban Tantra Professional's program. Amy has a passion for promoting shame-free, pleasure-based sexuality education while emphasizing the deep emotional and energetic forces behind great sex and intimate connection, offering everything from sexual how-to courses to Sacred Sexuality workshops.
