an 8 week series
Where: The 418 Project
When: Tuesday nights 6:00 to 7:30pm
Cost: $128 (early registration online $118)
Explore and learn Contact Improvisation using a delightful array of props, tools, and toys. This one-of-a-kind class series gives you the opportunity to practice and test out the principles of Contact Improvisation (its inherent movements, techniques, and awarenesses) with very special, very helpful "teachers". Physioballs, foam rollers, a balance staff, elastic bands, crutches, sandbags, yoga swings, a hammock, bungee harnesses, and even an overstuffed couch!
We will then dance with each other to explore how what we learn from the objects transfers into our movement with human bodies.
This class series is only offered once a year so be sure to be there if you want to play and learn with an awesome group of people.
All levels of experience are welcome. You can choose your engagement level at anytime or totally refuse a particular prop or activity. You are always at choice in any of my classes!
IMPORTANT: Please do not wear jeans or things with buttons, buckles, or anything pointy or sharp. Also no watches or jewelry please. Wear comfortable, stretchable clothing you can move in. Bring both a long sleeve and a short sleeve shirt if possible. A water bottle as well, if you like.

TANTRA IN MOTION WEEKEND: Eros, Embodiment, & Sensual Touch
Join us for a weekend of delicious connection through sensual movement and touch. A fusion between Sacred Sexuality and a potent “dance" form called Contact Improvisation, this experiential weekend is an opportunity to experience more pleasure and sexiness through intimate connection and embodiment.
No prior experience with Contact or Tantra required. All are welcome and don’t worry there’s no dancing in the traditional sense. Anyone can do it!
Transcend to new ecstatic heights with complete presence for every titillating movement and sensation. Move your way into deeper connection by exploring the body’s senses through playful exercises that include:
Embodied exploration of Tantric principles
Consensual over-the-clothes erotic touch
And plenty of opportunities for play and dance!
Boundaries and consent will be emphasized, and clothing will stay on at all times (with the exception of the clothing-optional hot tub). If you come with a partner, you are free to move with them throughout the entire weekend and let that be your focus.
This weekend exploration will be held in a beautiful retreat center outside of Boulder Creek -surrounded by trees and all the tranquility that nature has to offer. All exercises are optional and you are welcomed to make this weekend a personal getaway for some much needed downtime and/or an opportunity to connect with others intimately.
No prior experience necessary. Open to individuals and couples and triads, etc, of all orientations and genders. Come solo and prepared to sensually engage with new friends, or come partnered for a yummy getaway and a chance to deepen together.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Contact Improvisation?
Contact Improvisation (CI) is a dance "form" in which points of physical contact provide the starting point for exploration through movement improvisation. Contact Improvisation is a form of dance improvisation and is one of the best-known and most characteristic forms of postmodern dance.
Yeah, but what's it like?
Some have described Contact Improv as a little bit like partner dance, wrestling, movement meditation, partner massage, and gymnastics all combined into a social art form. Ultimately, CI is an open and on-going inquiry into the body physics of movement in relation to self and other. In many ways it's up to you to define it on your own terms...and enjoy it in the way that works for you.
Can anyone do it?
Will it be fun?
Way fun. And challenging at times. Afterall, what's fun without a little challenge thrown in to spice things up?
What's it cost?
Prices vary depending on the offering. Typically though, classes average out at about $16 each. I teach committed series classes so you must sign up for a full series of six classes (that's $98 per series). There are no drop-ins. Trust me...this is the best way to learn.
I also teach workshops and intensives so those are priced accordingly.
What do I wear, need to bring to class, etc.?
Please come to class wearing loose, comfortable clothing that you can move in. Jeans, belts, anything with buttons, jewlery, and such are not recommended. Water is good. So is your curiosity and willingness to try new things. We dance barefoot.
