How's this month looking for you? As for me, I am delighted to be traveling a bunch. I'll be with family some plus I have been invited to host the biggest Contact Improv jam of the year at legendary Earthdance in Massachusetts. Honored and excited! I'll resume teaching CI classes here in Santa Cruz in January (more on this below) so I'll bring all the downloads from this auspicious gathering back home for you.
In another exciting piece of news, I am delighted to announce the release of...
"Dance Bus: The Movie" Just what exactly IS ecstatic dance? And why do people do it? We set out on an 8 day journey to find out. Watch this feature-length documentary and join us as 32 "Dance Ambassadors" travel by bus across the state of California!
We visit a different Ecstatic Dance community each day. See the amazing variety of spaces, places, and people with in-depth interviews from dancers, DJs, producers, organizers, and many of the new friends we make along the way!
I poured a lot of love and heart (and many, many hours of editing) into this project.
Please watch and share. Will you help me spread it around the interwebs? Here’s the link:
Let’s share this video using facebook and other social media as well as emailing this link to special people in your lives that might be curious about Edance. May they be informed and inspired by our film!
Contact for Beginners in January I only offer this series twice a year. If you've been curious, now is the time to join in! You must pay for the whole series and be able to take at least 4 of the 6 classes.
This series is specifically designed for those new or brand new to Contact Improvisation. It's a great opportunity to learn the fundamental principles of the form in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.
Learn and explore the following:
-- the 5 basic elements of CI
-- tips for moving freely and spontaneously
-- how to start and end dances
-- historical perspectives and contexts
-- safety and respect on the dance floor
-- ways to build curiosity and fun

No Dance on Sat Dec. 24 and Saturday Dec. 31 There will be no Saturday morning dances on Christmas Eve morning (12/24) and New Year's Eve morning (12/31). Monday nights will definitely be happening so come on out and dance on those nights!
That's all for this month! I'll write up another newsletter/blog in January. Until then, many blessings to you and yours.
The days grow shorter still as we approach December 21 and Winter Solstice. However, you experience this time of year (holiday madness, holiday bliss, no holiday at all) please know that I wish you all the gifts and insights you need to show up fully for this miracle called life.
