Downtemple and Cacao
"Sounds from the Deep"
Saturday, March 21
7pm to 10pm
Pacific Cultural Center
Ecstatic Dance 3rd Saturdays at the PCC presents a not-to-be-missed edition of our monthly Edance gathering honoring our Oceans and the sentient song of Whales. Featuring authentic recordings mixed and blended with artistic interpretation, live musicians and a DJ will create an otherworldly, underwater soundscape combined with contemporary conscious bass music.
As with all our Downtemple nights you'll have plenty of time and space to relax and chill in our cozy zone. You are also welcome move and express through freeform dance in whatever ways you feel inspired. This is a Contact Improv friendly event (of course you are always at choice about connection!)
What really takes this to the next level is the use of some patented technology that we are blessed to have for this special event only. We'll be experiencing "super subs" that reproduce the ultra low frequencies that whales actually sing through the water and into each others bodies. Because of this highly specialized sound equipment, we get to feel it too...wow!
Opening cacao invocation by Samantha Stelk. Set your intention and enjoy this sacred beverage before diving below the surface. Doors open at 6:45pm. Cacao begins promptly at 7:15pm and no one will be admitted during the invocation.
$20 cash only at the door
$15 students/seniors
No shoes, no booze, no talking on the dance floor. Yes to respect, community, diversity, and consent!! Ages 14 and up only for this event.

O L O X
Saturday, Apr 18
8pm to 10pm
Pacific Cultural Center
Ecstatic Dance 3rd Saturdays at the PCC presents an incredible evening of "Neoshamanism" and Ecstatic Dance. OLOX is the creative union between Andreas Jones and Zarina Kopyrina which is a fusion of heart rhythms and electronic sounds mixed with ethnic songs from the native Sakha people from Siberia characterized by animal, bird and deep nature vocals.
ZARINA was born in a small village in Sakha (arctic Siberia) and was three years old when she started to learn the language of the birds and animals. Her voice takes its breath from traditional Sakha culture and is truly an instrument. She is the creator of “arctic beatbox” - the reindeer breath and is the author of “Neoshamanic Healing.”
ANDREAS was born to a Greek-Armenian family of healers and musicians and was four years old the first time he played the drums. He is the creator of a unique drumming technique where one person can become a multi-instrumentalist. His vocals are rooted in ancient Armenian singing and Tibetan bon chanting.
This year, OLOX headlined Lucidity Festival, RelaxPansion, OmRising, Beloved and played multiple shows at Burning Man. OLOX also took part in the international forum Arctic Circle-2015 in Iceland and in the French-American Arctic expedition Pax Arctica (DeLong Islands) sponsored by the Prince Monaco Foundation.

2nd Saturdays Kickoff Event
Saturday, Jan 9
8pm to 10pm
Pacific Cultural Center
** FREE TO ALL**
Announcing a shift to Ecstatic Dance 2nd Saturdays at the PCC!!! We start the New Year by shifting what has been our Ecstatic Dance 3rd Saturdays events to one week earlier each month. So just like in the past you can expect a monthly ED offering that expands and experiments with what Ecstatic Dance can be...just now we'll be doing that every 2nd Saturday from here on out.
We will be celebrating the "kickoff" of this new monthly timing with a FREE event designed to get you moving, connected, and fully expressed. Hosted and DJ'd by Daniel with guest artists TBA.
IMPT NOTE: 2nd Saturdays are a chance to stretch and play and grow our sense of what an Ecstatic Dance container can be. Sometimes these events are more social and party-like, sometimes they are facilitated, sometimes they are educational or awareness raising, and sometimes they are more ceremonial and spiritual in nature. Who knows, we are always experimenting!
FREE TO ALL ... Come feel the love and start the New Year off right!
This is an all ages event. Please help us make this a scent and cell phone free environment. No shoes, no booze, no talking on the dance floor. Yes to respect, community, diversity, and consent!!
